Earth Day Fun and Educational Party Games
Proof of the media’s impact on the world today, it was not until the full throttle report put out by the New York Times that the environmental awareness sought by Senator Gaylord Nelson really took on some steam. For seven years prior to the actual Earth Day grassroots movement, Senator Nelson had tried to gain the proper respect and recognition he felt the environment deserved.
Beginning in 1962, Nelson purposed to President Kennedy the idea of a national conservation tour, which was an attempt to bring political attention to the needs of the environment, composed of a five day trek covering eleven states to spread environmental awareness. Although this seemed to be what would break into the public’s attention, it did not. It seemed the people were troubled by the environments degradation but the public policy was not following that concern. Earth Day did not come about until six long years later.
Noticing the interest being captured by the press within the student anti-war movements over the Vietnam War, an idea came to Senator Nelson. Creating an “anti-war movement” but directing the concern to the environment rather than any actual war. The hope was that this demonstration of concern for the environment would generate press and public awareness and in so stimulate the public policy to take action in areas of environmental interest. You can teach your partygoers about Earth Day and have lots of fun by including Earth Day educational party games.

Easter Fun Games For Everyone
Easter is often considered to be nothing more than a Christian holiday that is celebrated around the world. The Easter holiday marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The origin of Easter can be traced back to mythology. The name Easter comes from the name of an ancient Greek Goddess of Spring, Eostre. Eostre, it was believed returned to the Earth after a long, cold winter and with her, brought along the light and warmth of Spring. Ancient Greeks celebrated the return of Eostre and spring with pagan festivals. As with many pagan festivals, the date coincided with the equinox on the 21st of March every year. It was important to keep Eostre happy in order to ensure she would return year after year. Therefore the Greeks threw an extravagant feast and celebration. Your Easter celebration can be made very special when you access our Easter fun games for your guests to play.
When the holiday became more Christianized, the celebration was no longer about welcoming spring, but instead was based upon the resurrection of Jesus. To sever the ties from paganism even further, the church changed the date of the festival from being held on the spring equinox, but instead it was to be held the first Sunday following the full moon after the vernal equinox (or on the full moon if it happened to fall on the first Sunday). Because the holiday is to be scheduled based upon that of the full moon, the Easter holiday can be celebrated as early as March 22nd or as late as April 25th.
Symbols that are often associated with Easter and their meanings are:
Today, in modern times, Easter is celebrated not only in the United States but around the world. You will find these symbols used in many of the fun Easter party games you decide
to play. Each symbol and tradition marking a tradition of life, renewal, rebirth, and resurrection, not just for the Christian belief of Christ, but for the rejuvenation of the world as winter is replaced by the warmth of spring.

Nascar Racing Free Party Games
Racing fans everywhere will know that Nascar racing is a big deal. Each year stock car racing gets bigger and bigger. This sports event has grown so much since its first race on the Charlotte Speedway in June 19, 1949. There are even sports parties modeled after the Nascar theme. Some have these parties around Nascar time or just on their birthdays. The Nascar name has been around for fifty three years ever since Nascar president Bill France Sr. hit on the idea of racing cars that people could actually drive on the street.
Nascar has a language all its own and many fans will be familiar with the slang terms used on the track, but those throwing a Nascar themed party may not be familiar with the terms. You can help- them when you access your Nascar racing free party games. You might want to think about throwing in few of these words on your banners, and invitations to add the Nascar flavor to your party. When a racecar is in ‘Balance’ that means its not oversteering or understeering but its going around the track as if it’s on rails. The ‘Groove’ is considered to be the best or most efficient way around the track. ‘Happy Hour’ is the term used to refer to the official practice session around the racetrack before the main race.
You can add some fun to any Nascar party with some interesting trivia and facts games. You'll find many to choose from when you look for your Nascar racing free party games. Did you know that a yellow strip across the rear of a Nascar driving car signals that there’s a rookie driver behind the wheel? And the closest finish in Nascar history is .002 seconds on March 16, 2003 when Ricky Craven beat Kurt Busch. Make up a few cards with trivia questions on them and have a quick game of Nascar Knowledge before the next big race. Guests are sure to love it.

Baby Shower Games - Fast and fun
Baby shower, huh? Let me get this straight. So, your best friend has just announced she’s pregnant. You stood as her Maid of Honor, you planned her bachelorette party, and now – now you can’t believe that you just offered to give her a baby shower! Relax, in order to throw a great baby shower you don’t really need to know anything about babies. So, in that sense you are in luck. Since most baby showers are held before the baby is born, the shower tends to be more about the party than it is about the baby.
First of all, figure out a date to plan the baby shower for. In order to best do this, it is a good time to start figuring out the guest list too. You will want to keep in mind that some people may be traveling to participate so plan accordingly. My personal favorite time to schedule a baby shower is about the 7th month or so. The mom is looking fun, perky and pregnant (a prerequisite in my eyes) but isn’t completely tired and uncomfortable – yet. Also, the sex of the child is often known by then so shopping and creating wish lists of things the parents will be needing is easier to create to help the guests select their gifts.
Selecting invitations and party accessories is as easy as logging on to the site of your favorite party supplier. While you are on there, don't forget to look at the baby shower games. They have great selections and prices that will beat most of the discount and superstores in your areas. Themes can be created around invitations or the accessories or you can select your own. One of my favorite baby shower themes is to hold the “A Star is Born” Hollywood style shower. All of the guests are treated as if they have come to a special ceremony for the next star in the walk of fame. I provide a red carpet for their arrival and everything. I video tape each guest as they arrive and interview them as if they were walking on the red carpet to a big premier event. I ask them to provide some words of advice for the new parents to be, etc.
Games and activities carry either carry on the Hollywood theme. My favorite two to do are:
- Celebrity match games where you match Hollywood star baby pictures with their current pictures; and,
Rewrite the story lines from favorite movies into childrens bed time rhymes (Dr. Seuss style works too!) and see who can guess the movie they are from.
One favorite game that isn’t Hollywood related, but makes for great footage on your film biography of the day is to select 8 flavors of various baby foods and then have tasting stations where your guests take a small spoonfuls of each and then try to determine what they are. The one who guesses the most correctly wins the game, but the faces the guests will make while tasting some will make for some hilarious moments. Your guests will have the most fun when you include baby shower games at your party.
Keep your refreshments stress free by keeping them simple. Finger sandwiches, chips and salsa, a slow cooker full of soup and warm breadsticks on the side all make for easy self serving. The important thing is to have plenty of room for the guests to eat, visit, and exchange stories because that is really what a baby shower is all about – reliving old memories while making new ones. Enjoy!
Bridal Shower Games To Print
Bridal showers can have themes, such as kitchen themes, where not only is a kitchen item given, a recipe is given along with it. In a situation where kitchen items are not needed, a recipe AND the ingredients needed for the dish are a perfect gift.
Another potential bridal shower theme is a lingerie party. Have fun learning how to play as you access our bridal shower games to print. These showers provide the perfect atmosphere for laughter and often raucous fun! You can spice this up or make it light hearted and fun. A bridal shower should be a fun time, so make this a fun part of the shower. Giving her gifts that will be well enjoyed later will be much appreciated by the bride and the groom, of course! It doesn't have to be distasteful, either!
One particularly fun bridal shower game is the “Bag game” where everyone is given a paper bag to put on their heads. Music is played, and when it stops, each person is required to remove something they are wearing that they don’t really need. The game gets funnier and funnier, until everyone finally realizes that the article they really don’t need is the bag on their head!
Wedding dress games are often very entertaining! Have several rolls of white toilet paper, and divide the guests into two or more groups of three to five people. Each group then chooses a model (mother of the bride and/or groom work wonderfully) and instruct each team to design and fashion a "wedding dress" out of toilet paper. Accessories are allowed (earrings, bouquets, trains, headpieces, wedding ring, etc.), but they all have to be constructed from toilet paper. Once the groups are finished, the bride gets to judge and choose the winner of the contest. Just don’t forget the camera, because the photos will be tremendous fun! This is only one of many games you can participate in when you check out our bridal shower games to print.
St. Patricks Day Party Games
The Irish aren't much like the people that Irish Americans pretend to be on St Patricks Day. But please don't take our stereotypes away. We love them so.
Descendents of those who immigrated during the Irish potato famines of the 18th and 19th century generally only have St Patricks Day to remind them of those long ago ancestral ties. We may not have any real understanding of the country at all. Still we must beg pardon of the modern Irish citizenry and continue our traditions.
So with tongue in cheek every American who likes a mid-March excuse to celebrate professes to be partly of Irish ancestry. We wear green and don't know why. We may live in communities that dye their rivers green or present bar patrons with green beer. Restaurants serve corned beef and cabbage amid leprechaun decorations or plastic pots-of-gold. This is a difficult dish to prepare: eat out!
School children enjoy cupcakes of any flavor with green icing. Other snacks may be potato chips or potato sticks. Parties for St Patricks Day are sure to be decorated with green and white twisted streamers and four leaf clovers. Paper party goods are the only option for children's parties but some adult dinners feature Irish linen and good china. While you're planning your dinner party, don't forget to think of some fun St. Patricks Day party games.
Hosting a dinner or party for any age group will be more politically correct when attention is given to actual cultural images. Celtic historical crafts and Gaelic lettered items as well as Celtic music will lend more accuracy. Folk dance or DVD's of popular dance could be offered for entertainment. You'll have fun playing the green egg toss as part of your St. Patricks Day party games. More sophisticated guests might enjoy readings from the poetry of Ireland which is rich and varied.
Most of us will descend into the habit of bad Irish accents and excessive imbibing. It is the American way. Don't drink and drive.
